Montrose Lions Club Provides Local Grants

2017 18 presidents logo Lions ClubThe Montrose Lions Club recently provided five grants totaling more than $3,400 for local community and educational support from three of the club’s charitable endowments managed by The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains. The Montrose Lions Community Fund has provided the following three grants: $900 to the Montrose Mobile Pantry to purchase nutritious food for its mission to battle hunger in Susquehanna County, $500 to the Montrose Little League to assist with the expenses of constructing a new concession stand and press box, and $275 to Pink Arrow Arts for a children’s art program that will be publicly displayed.

The Montrose Lions Club Montrose Area School District Fund has also provided $500 to help support an 8th grade field trip to Philadelphia to visit the Museum of the American Revolution and also the National Constitution Center. Furthermore, the Montrose Lions Club has provided from the Fred Mack Memorial Fund a grant of $1,260 to Blue Ridge School District to help purchase equipment to teach CPR and Basic Life Support to 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students. In addition to these three endowments the Montrose Lions Club also has the Martin Dillon Memorial Scholarship Fund at The Community Foundation which provides college tuition assistance to graduates of the Montrose Area High School.
