Northern Tier Industry & Education Consortium Establishes Endowment

Gary Matson: NTIEC Executive Director

The Northern Tier Industry and Education Consortium (NTIEC), headquartered in South Montrose, has established an operating endowment with The Community Foundation of Susquehanna & Wyoming Counties. The endowment fund will provide support for operational expenses of NTIEC for generations to come.

NTIEC's mission is to help create a skilled and knowledgeable workforce in Northeastern Pennsylvania though educational outreach, training processes, and job fairs. The Northern Tier Industry and Education Consortium has been especially focused on reaching area High School students, giving them real world experience in different career fields to better understand their options as well as gain true-life experiences. NTIEC has established a Youth Apprentice Program, as well as job shadowing opportunities, career fairs, Educators in the Workforce initiatives, and has brought business professionals into the classrooms of regional schools.

The endowment at The Community Foundation will provide a stable, long-term source of funding to cover operating costs associated with organizing NTIEC's network of partners in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania, including 22 school districts and dozens of businesses and organizations in its five-county service area.

To help enhance the assistance provided by this permanent fund friends and supporters of NTIEC can direct tax-deductible donations to the NTIEC Operating Endowment at The Community Foundation of Susquehanna & Wyoming Counties.
