Milnes Companies Support Pre-K Education

March 17, 2010: The Milnes Companies, a family run engineering and construction firm headquartered in Tunkhannock, has donated $3,360 to the Pre-School Scholarship Program for low to moderate income families administered by The Community Foundation of Susquehanna & Wyoming Counties.

This assistance is currently helping 81 students who are attending 12 Pre-Schools in The Community Foundation's two-county service area, by providing $41,200 in scholarships. The Community Foundation expresses its gratitude for the generosity and commitment the Milnes Companies have shown toward local families striving to educate their children.

Foundation President, Peter Quigg, states, "The Milnes Companies was the very first corporation headquartered in Wyoming County to assist with our scholarship program, and we appreciate their continued participation very much, as do the families who have received this assistance, who in some cases might not be able to send their children to Pre-School without this help."
