The Community Foundation Building
February 12, 2010: In today's issue (February 12th) of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin is an article on page 3A about natural gas proceeds benefiting new and existing endowments managed by The Community Foundation of Susquehanna & Wyoming Counties. Chris Caterson, who Chairs the hospital building project for Endless Mountains Health System is mentioned as well.
It's a very nice article even though we are referred to as serving Wayne County. We apologize to our friends in our service area of Wyoming County. Rest assured we have indeed received donations from natural gas proceeds from families and corporations in your county that so far are serving a church and our K-12 Scholarship Program for students from low and moderate income families. We have also established a fund for the Pre-School program H.A.N.D.S. that we hope will benefit from gas proceeds and help that organization serve the Pre-Schools and young families of Wyoming County.
In Susquehanna County natural gas revenue is benefiting funds for the library building project, hospital building project, a church, and a handful of Donor Advised Funds where families notify us annually of which charities they would like to support. Exciting things are happening...
