July 2, 2009: Students from the Building Trades I (cabinetmaking and carpentry) program from the Susquehanna County Career & Technology Center had the opportunity recently to give back to the Community Foundation of Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties by presenting Foundation President Peter Quigg with a mailbox they constructed.
Since 2003 The Community Foundation has awarded nearly $50,000 in tuition assistance to 245 students from seven local school districts to attend the Center. Quigg thanked the students and staff and felt the mailbox, in addition to protecting correspondence and packages from the elements, will be a nice complement to the colonial décor of The Foundation's recently renovated office building which is donated for its use by a private family foundation.
"We appreciate everything that The Community Foundation does for our students. This was a great opportunity for the Career Center to give a little something back," said Dr. Alice M. Davis.
