New Fund Established for Interfaith and Trehab

Mr. Chris Lake
March 10, 2008: A new charitable fund has been established with The Community Foundation to provide permanent annual support to both the Susquehanna County Interfaith Agency and Trehab Agency which serve a broad geographic area, and are headquartered in Montrose. Mr. Albert Bertsch, of Montrose, has provided the seed money to create the Albert Bertsch Fund in Memory of Chris Lake. Mr. Lake, who passed away a number of years ago, was a good friend and golf partner of Mr. Bertsch, who wished to honor his friend while also supporting worthwhile causes of which Mr. Lake would have approved. It is his hope that friends of Chris Lake will make additional tax-deductible donations to the fund to honor the memory of him and to enhance the support provided by the fund.
The Susquehanna County Interfaith Agency serves families in crisis by providing emergency assistance, fuel assistance, clothing, baby health care items, and other helpful projects throughout the year. The Trehab Agency advocates for the poor, unemployed, underemployed, the elderly, and groups at risk. It offers drug and alcohol counseling, housing development, workforce development, home weatherization assistance, and other programs. Those wishing to build upon Mr. Bertsch's generosity to support these two very worthwhile service agencies, and to honor Chris Lake, may send donations for the Chris Lake Fund directly to The Community Foundation.
